Not therapy

Tandem is a communication coaching tool. It is not therapy, counseling, medical or mental-health care, and it does not create a therapist–client relationship. AI coaching can be wrong; use your own judgment. If you are in danger or crisis, contact emergency services, the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) or 988.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use Tandem, or 13 to 17 and a member of a family circle that includes your parent or legal guardian. Teens may only join a family circle using a code from that circle, and a parent or guardian in the circle confirms the teen's age. By inviting a teen, the parent or guardian agrees to these terms on the teen's behalf and is responsible for the teen's use of Tandem. Tandem is not for anyone under 13.

Consent to listen

You may only start a live session with people who agree to it on their own device. You must not use Tandem to record, monitor, or listen to anyone without their knowledge and consent, or to manipulate, pressure or control another person.

Your account

Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

Your content

You own what you write. You give us permission to process it to run Tandem, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions

Paid plans, when offered, are billed through the App Store or Google Play and renew until cancelled in your store account settings.

Changes and ending service

We may update these terms or the service. If changes are significant we'll tell you in the app. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Disclaimers and liability

Tandem is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
